Rebecca just after crowning
Thank you so much for agreeing to be interviewed today, I’m loving reading everyone’s journey and learning more about the different pageant systems.
Firstly what made you decide to enter pageants ?
It was actually 5 minutes of madness. A friend of mine was competing in Miss Brighton back in 2017 and the finalists had a practice catwalk at a prom show a month before the final. I went along to support and thought that looks fun and next thing I knew I was in the final.
Apart from your current title do you have any previous titles ?
My previous titles are :- 👸Miss Charity 2017 👸Miss Brighton 2018 👸Miss Sussex 2019
What made you decide to compete in your current system ?
I liked the way the system encourages you to be who you are.
What the best thing that pageants have taught you?
To be myself and not worry about what other people think about me. To live everyday to the fullest.
What’s your pageant platform and why ?
Mental health because I think it’s a subject that still needs more discussion and needs to be accepted more. I myself have had times where life has been tough and I had counselling to get better.
What’s your dream title ?

Crowning moment
My title I already have
What was it like when you were crowned ?
It meant the world to me to be crowned Miss Mystic Beauty. I love being able to help other people and charities and being a part of Mystic has enabled me to do this.
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens ?
Never give up. I was thinking of giving up. And I am so glad I didn’t.
What did you do in the run up to your pageant final ?
On the run up to the final back in October I had been busy every weekend. I loved every second of it. From judging dog shoes to opening a vet surgery. I raised money by doing a charity walk. Helped various local charities in open days. Was so much fun.
What makes a good pageant role model ?
Someone who isn’t afraid to stand up for what they believe and be willing to help others.
What’s your favourite pageant round ?
For me it’s the evening wear. Who doesn’t love getting dressed up.
How do you deal with pageant nerves ?
For me I think back to the acting I did in a play. And I think if I can get up and read various lines from a play I can definitely strut my stuff on a stage.
Thank you so much for answering my questions I’ve really enjoyed readying your journey and I’m looking forward to see what pageant land brings next for you. Much love Charlotte, Ms Diamond South Yorkshire 2020.
