Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog. It’s lovely getting to know fellow pageant queens and more about the systems that they represent.

What made me enter pageants, this was always a dream of mine and passion something I always wanted to do from a young age and to also help me with my confidence as well which is now rose so much.

Can you tell us about your pageant journey so far ?

I started Competing in 2017 I started off in a few charity pageants to help me as I was just starting out so I needed the practise which really helped me and than after that I decided to enter Miss Northwest Wigan Beauty wigan a contracted one as I had come so far and that’s when I won my very first title Miss Wigan Beauty 2017 and then from there went onto higher ones 2018 Miss UK Rose where I won Miss United Kingdom Role Model and then last year went back to my final and won Miss United Kingdom Rose Woman I am so proud I am.

What made you decide to compete in the Miss United Kingdom Rose System ?

What made me compete in my current system is that when I read about this I thought wow it sounds amazing and you know something it’s like one big happy family everyone truly supportive and supports each other. I have been with this system a few years now and I am so happy.

What’s the best thing that pageants have taught you ?

The best thing what pageants have taught me is just to be yourself if you don’t win never give up as it will happen its about believing in yourself and saying you can do it.

What’s your pageant platform and why ?

My pageant platform and why Is Mind UK as so many people suffer with mental health and feel they have no one turn and I want to help those in that situation to know they are not alone to speak up as I used to have mental health issues when I was younger so it means so much to me.

What’s your dream title ?

I have always being dedicated to my system so my title would be Miss community champion as I do so much for my community and it would be an honour.

What was it like when you won Miss United Kingdom Rose Woman ?

When I won my final last year I couldn’t believe it, I was glowing inside,I never expected it, as to me it’s not about winning its about taking part and enjoying it and I knew everyone had worked so hard and when my name was called it was a dream come true and even more the greatest day ever as it was on my wedding anniversary and birthday a day I’ll never forget.

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens?

The best advice to my fellow pageant Queens is keep on going for your dream it will happen just keep climbing that ladder.

What have you been doing since you won Miss United Kingdom Rose Woman ?

What I have being doing since I won Miss United Kingdom Rose Woman last year is promoting my title and system I have featured in magazines and newspapers. I even got to meet my local mp which was a honour as she was very impressed with me. I have raised £45 for Mind UK and have gone out into the community helping others, I have made 24 appearances in total.

Do you have a favourite appearance ?

My favourite appearance would be meeting my Mp it was a pleasure just to talk to her and tell her what I was doing which made me feel so proud.

Has your pageant journey been affected by the lockdown due to Covid19 ?

It hasn’t stopped me doing what I love, I have promised positivity for my family and friends who I know have being struggling through my videos and even taking part in online campaigns. As I just love to keep busy and promote my title as much as possible.

Has your reign been extended due to Covid19 ?

My final was meant to be this year in November but its been extended to June next year now and I get to keep on making more apperances.

What makes a good pageant role model ?

What makes a good pageant role model is someone who supports there sister Queens who will be dedicated to their title and system and most of all who will work hard.

What’s your favourite pageant round ?

I would say evening wear as when I am on stage I feel amazing inside, as it’s so elegant to walk to some beautiful music I glow inside of me.

How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

I deal with them by staying calm positive and saying to myself just be myself and I’ll be fine and that always helps me so much.
