Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey. It’s been lovely getting to know fellow beauty queens and more about the systems they represent.
So what made you enter pageants ?
I actually first saw Miss Teen Great Britain on an ad on my instagram a few years ago, it was the year Evanjelin was crowned in 2018. I watched her journey and I loved the whole atmosphere that Miss Teen Great Britain portrayed. I decided to enter to try something new but didnt think anything of it and it was honestly the best choice of my life!
So this will be your second time competing what was your title last time ?
I was your Miss Teen High Wycombe 2019 and I am now your Miss Teen Hartlepool 2020.
So what was it like competing last time and can you tell us about your journey?
I competed in Miss Teen Great Britain 2019 and it was honestly the best experience of my life. I made life long friends and had the best time in pageant land. After competing in the finals the pageant bug kicked in, and when I was driving home I re-entered for the 2020 finals! I have my heart set on Miss Teen Great Britain and for the foreseeable future I cant see myself competing in another system.
What made you decide to compete in Miss Teen Great Britain?
When I watched Evanjelin get crowned in 2018 I loved everything about Miss Teen Great Britain. I loved the sisterhood and the layout of the weekend. So I decided to give it a go, little did I know I would fall in love!
What the best thing that pageants have taught you ?
Pageants have taught me to be myself and be proud of everything I have achieved because everyone has different journeys so we should be proud of our own.
What’s your pageant platform and why ?
My pageant platform is mental health awareness and suicide prevention. This is my platform because it is something very close to my heart. In the last year I have lost quite a few close friends to suicide and one unfortunately recently. I wanted to make this my platform because it is something I am passionate about and I want to be able to help others in need before they get to that choice.
What’s your dream title ?
My dream title is Miss Teen Great Britain because I would love to represent the system and the systems motto. I would love to be able to empower others and celebrate their achievements so people realise how much their life is worth and how much they have achieved.
If you were to win Miss Teen Great Britain what would it mean to you ?
Thats so hard to put into words, but it would honestly mean the world to me. Winning the title would be my dream come true and I would love to use my title to help break the stigma on talking about suicide and mental health.
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens ?
I would say go to your finals wanting to have the best weekend ever and I promise you will! You will make sisters for life and take incredible memories away. Dont focus on winning because the crown is just a bonus. Also dont compare yourself to others ( and I know thats easier said than done ) be proud of you and all you have achieved, be the best version of yourself!
What have you been doing in the run up to the final of Miss Teen Great Britain ?
Before lockdown I was attending regular events I donated to my local childrens ward, I made appearances at my cheerleading competitions and lots more! Since lockdown has began I’ve been restricted on what I can do, but I’ve still been keeping super busy. I have been posting positivity quotes in my local area, donating to local food banks and I also have been hosting online contests and supporting all my sisters in their online campaigns!
How has the lockdown due to COVID-19 effected your pageant journey ?
Lockdown has made me restricted on appearances I can do but I havent let it stop me! Its also given me the opportunity to connect with people competing in my system, I have messaged the majority of the girls competing in Miss Teen Great Britain and getting to know them all! Its also given me plenty of time for planning and extra training and focusing on my mindset.
What makes a good pageant role model ?
In my eyes a good pageant role model is hardworking, determined and kind. They also need to be approachable for especially newcomers.
What’s your favourite pageant round ?
This is a question I always struggle with because they are all my favourite for different reasons! But if I had to pick it would be evening because I love how elegant and slow it is.
How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

I deal with pageant nerves by just taking a deep breath before I step onto the stage. Im quite lucky because I have competed in cheerleading the majority of my life so I am quite used to performing infront of large crowds. But if I do feel nervous I recommend talking to the other girls and just telling them how you feel because I promise you, you will not be the only one feeling nervous.
