Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog it’s lovely getting to know fellow pageant queens and more about the systems that they represent.

Can you please introduce yourself ?

Miss Pageant Girl Nottingham Chloe-Rose Adkin Age 19

What made you enter pageants ?

I was at a low point in my life and needed something to get me out of my comfort zone.

Can you tell us about your pageant journey and previous titles ?

Too many to list! 🤣 My most recent title was Miss Nottingham Galaxy & Miss Galaxy UK 2020 1st Runner-Up! I’ve competed since the age of 16, I started with a local competition which was run by the rotary club and worked my way up for the bigger competitions such as Miss England and Miss Galaxy UK.

What made you decide to compete in the Pageant Girl system ?

I’m currently representing Nottingham in Miss Pageant Girl UK, after my success at Galaxy UK, I realised I couldn’t wait another year to get back on stage but still wanted to stay within Holly’s systems as I’ve never felt so welcomed and comfortable. Miss Pageant Girl UK is all about being a role model to the pageant community and that’s something that is very important to me. I’d rather be known as the girl with the biggest heart then the girl with the prettiest hair, makeup, dress etc!

What the best thing that pageants have taught you ?

To believe in myself. For as long as I can remember, I’ve always doubted my ability to succeed, I came up with the most ridiculous reasons on why I’d fail in certain situations. Ever since competing, I’ve realised I am enough and that my efforts are appreciated by many.

What’s your pageant platform and why ?

My platform is Heart Awareness, a few years ago my grandad suffered from a heart attack, he was very fortunate to make a full recovery. After being dismissed from the hospital he was instructed to attend a ‘cardiac gym’ which offers outpatients lifestyle advice, exercise classes and diet advice to guide them into a healthier lifestyle to prevent such events from recurring.

I now know the importance of having a healthy heart (and body)! Too many people overlook their heart health, I hope my campaign can change that!

I’d like to take my platform into schools and share my story to encourage young children to a healthy lifestyle to hopefully end heart disease.

What’s your dream title ?

Right now, Miss Pageant Girl UK 2020!

If you were to win what would it mean to you ?

I’d be extremely grateful for the opportunity to promote a system I truly believe in. It’d mean all my work over the years has been worth it and that I am enough.

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant contestants ?

Relax, make sure you are mentally prepared for competition. I have a video on my Instagram (@chloea.pageants) discussing this!

What have you been doing in the run up to the Miss Pageant Girl Final ?

I’ve only just been announced as Miss Pageant Girl Nottingham but I have lots planned for when my sash arrives! Normally, I love attending events and support the pageant community but due to covid-19, it looks like I’ll have to support via online appearances!

What’s your favourite ever appearance ?

My ball (Glitter Ball 2019), it was such hard work as I’m a perfectionist! But to see the the venue decorated and my guests having the best time made it all worth it. Not forgetting that it raised over £1300 for 2 amazing charities!

How has the lockdown due to COVID19 effected your pageant journey ?

It’s given me time to reflect on my journey and made me realise how far I’m come. I’ve met so many amazing people that I truly love and appreciate.

What makes a good pageant role model ?

Somebody who is kind and welcoming to all. We all know how it feels to be a newbie, I always try to reach out and smile to everyone.

What’s your favourite pageant round ?

Fashion Wear, the music makes me feel empowered!

How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

I tell myself, I am enough, the results do not define who I am! I’ve worked so hard for this moment, now it’s time to just enjoy it!
