Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog, it’s lovely getting to know fellow pageant queens and more about the systems that they represent.
What made you enter pageants?
I decided to enter pageants because I used to work abroad singing and dancing and performing all the time and I loved to dress up for the shows and feel special. It gives you that extra boost of confidence. So when I came home I entered Miss England to try it and see what it’s like and I absolutely loved it. I met so many amazing people in which I’m still friends with now and the confidence boost it gives you is incredible and I always get that butterflies in the stomach feeling when I’m on that stage
Have you competed before?

Yes it was my first pageant last year for Miss England which I made it to the Semi Finals and then this year I decided to do enter Miss Intercontinental in which I have been lucky enough to get a place in the Final representing East Yorkshire.
What made you decide to compete in pageants ?
I decided to compete because of the happiness and confidence it gives you and all the friends you meet everyone is so supportive and wants the best for everyone
What’s your dream title?
My Dream title is Miss Intercontinental UK or Miss Great Britain
What would it mean to you if you won Miss Intercontinental U.K. ?
If I was to win it would literally be a dream come true and to know all the hard work and effort has all paid off. Knowing I can represent my country as winning that title would be incredible that is my dream
What’s the best advice you can give to fellow pageant queens?
The best advice I can give is don’t treat it as a competition. The support and boost everyone gives to each other is what will show through. We’re all in this together we all the know the scary feelings and wanting to do well but we’re all in this together. So support eachother and if you have an idea tell the group about it so you can all work together to the final.
What have you been doing in the run up to the final of Miss Intercontinental U.K. ?
I have been very busy working alongside my full time job. However I have been raising money for women’s aid and have been doing a 50k bike ride and realised an incredible amount of £1,065 for the charity and I have lots more events coming soon.
What’s your favourite appearance?
My favourite appearance was when I have a TV appearance and interview about a previous pageant it was incredible and so surreal to see myself on TV. Also I had the biggest smile on my face ever
How has lockdown due to COVID19 effected your pageant journey?
The only thing that it has really changed is sometimes it’s more difficult for more public fundraising however there’s lot of creative ways to still raise money
What do you believe makes a good pageant role model?
A good pageant role model is someone who is support and always sees the good in everyone and is not there just for a competition whether it’s just for a chat or they need a help a good role model will be there to support their fellow pageant sisters
What’s your favourite pageant round?
Mine is definitely evening wear I love to dress up in fancy ball gowns is such a special feeling for me. The confidence and the feeling it gives you is incredible
How do you deal with pageant nerves?
For me I’ve performed so many times on stage that I know how to hide away the nerves and deal with them. Me personally I deal with them by just going out there enjoying myself and just giving the biggest smile ever. The more you think about your nerves the more it effects your performance
