Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog it’s lovely getting to know my fellow Diamond Queens.

What made you enter pageants ?

It was a hobby I could take on while helping the community and raising money for charity.

You have competed before can you tell us your previous titles and placings ?

Yes I have, my previous titles are…

  1. Miss Crown & Glory Photogenic 2017

  2. Miss Newcastle Galaxy 2017/18 (Top 16 at Miss Galaxy England 2017/18 out of 57 girls)

  3. Miss Belle County Durham (North East England) Ambassador 2018/19 (1st runner up at Miss Belle North East England 2018/19 also won Miss Belle NE.ENGLAND best in fashion wear – went to internationals)

  4. Miss Belle North East England 2019/20 (also won Miss NE.England best in evening wear and best in fashion wear)

All journeys have been absolutely amazing and unique in their own way!

What the best thing that pageants have taught you ?

That nothing is impossible, you just have to have faith and courage in your self, pageants have helped and helping me manage my anxiety.

What’s your pageant platform and why ?

I make little care packages these are donated to and distributed by NUFC Supporters Foodbank and Let’s End Homeless Society which I am also and associate for. I always wanted to help the homeless and those in need but was told to bever give money to beggers on the street, so becoming a Level 3 First Aider I thought it was time to act and I found a way I can help!

What’s your dream title ?

I don’t really have a dream title, what ever happens is meant to be. However, at the moment I aspire to be the next Miss Diamond UK 2020.

If you were to win Miss Diamond U.K. what would it mean to you ?

If I was to win the title would give me a platform to have a voice on sharing my story with anxiety hopefully able to help at least 1 person, it would give me the opportunity to share my platform with the country sharing how important the matter is and why we all need to act and do our part to help and it would also give me the opportunity to go to internationals which is a goal of mine to so again as I aspire to travel and see as much of the world as I can.

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens ?

Photographer – Colin Anderson

Very simple and basic but Keep going! Hold your head up high! Work hard! Never give up! You will get to where you should be in the end!

What have you been doing in the run up to the final of Miss Diamond U.K. ?

I have just been awarded the title from tied winning Miss Diamond Photogenic 2020 this is the first thing that I have done as Miss Diamond Newcastle 2020 but I have already started planning other stuff so keep a look out!

What’s favourite ever appearance throughout your pageant journey ?

When I faced my fear of heights by Ziplining off the Baltic on Gateshead Quayside raising money for The Christie NHS Foundation Trust.

How has the lockdown due to Covid19 19 effected your pageant journey ?

It has opened my eyes to new ways I can go around a pageant journey and has made me look back on past thinking what eles could I do? What could I do differently? There is always room for improvement.

What makes a good pageant role model ?

Someone who is kind, honest and trustworthy.

What’s your favourite pageant round ?

I love swimwear as boosted my confidence so much! It is fun and can celebrate who I am being proud of the body I am in!

How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

Being a sufferer of anxiety I am on prescription medication for this but on pageant days I also use my headphones to listen to music I keep snacks available, drink pleanty water, and I use a few drops of Rescue Remedy. I also find it helps having everything I’m going to wear organised in order so that I know where everything is and not having to hunt for it. However, just remember you’ll be perfectly fine on stage, that is your moment to celebrate all your hard work, you should be proud and greatfull to be there!
