Interview with Melissa Gibbons who is a Miss Wigan/Northwest Beauty Finalist

Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog, it’s lovely getting to know my fellow pageant queens.

So what made you enter pageants ?

I entered a charity pageant and I loved it so I decided that I wanted to try one and I got inspired to do by Leonie Pembleton and Glesni Reece (Jr Teen Wales Royal)

What made you decide to enter this system ?

I got inspired to enter this pageant I am in beside I just liked how I knew a lot of people in the system

What’s the best thing that pageants have taught you ?

The best thing pageants has taught me is that even if you fail nobody will be ashamed

What’s your pageant platform and why?

My platform is two different charities these are the UK Spesis Trust and Wigan and Leigh Hospice. I chose these charities because I found out that these charities can struggle a lot when comes to difficult times.

What’s your dream title ?

My dream title is Miss International UK

What would it mean for you to win ?

If I were to win it would mean a lot to me because I was always told I can never win anything so it would show me and them that I can win

What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens?

The best advice I have for fellow pageant queens is to be Confident and don’t show anybody your nerves

What have you being doing in the run up to the pageant final ?

In the run up to my finals I have been practicing my walk to make sure I have it nailed and also my interview.

What’s your favourite appearance so far ?

My favourite appearance has to be when I took part in Eva and Erin Pritchards on line pageant

What do you think makes a good pageant role model ?

A good pageant role model to me is somebody who has entered pageants before and is confident.

What’s your favourite pageant round ?

My favourite round has to be fun fashion because you get to show off your personality

How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

How I deal with pageant nerves is I keep talking about what I am going to do.
