Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey it’s lovely getting to know fellow pageant queens and more about the systems that they represent.
Can you introduce yourself ?
My names Hollie Rose, I’m a current Miss Voluptuous Finalist 2020 and I’m 21!
What made you enter pageants ?
I sat and looked at photos from my 18th birthday and I felt fat and disgusting, I sat over breakfast with my mum and she said about entering a competition to push myself out of my comfort zone & that was how I discovered the amazing land that is Pageant Land.
Can you tell us about your pageant journey so far ?

My first pageant was in 2017 I was Miss Hampshire Curve, I came back again to the same system representing Hampshire again in 2018 with my mum, I also represented England as Miss England Curve 2018 in October. In early 2019 I competed as Miss Teen Paragon International South England & I then went on to win Miss Teen Paragon International.
What made you decide to compete in the Miss Voluptuous System ?
This is probably my last time competing for a while, I’m following my career and Miss Voluptuous is my last chance at representing the UK in America! 🇺🇸 I also adore all the Miss V girls, they’re so inspiring & some of them have been great friends since I started pageants. Natalie is also an incredible human being, and it’s an honour to have been accepted as a finalist.
What the best thing that pageants have taught you ?
That I don’t have to hide behind the colour black. For years and years I never wore colour because I felt that as a bigger girl I would stand out more, but now I’ll go to Tesco’s in a bright pink outfit and not have a care in the world!
What’s your pageant platform and why ?
My platform is to #AdoptDontShop. It’s so important to me to give animals a second chance at life! I have 2 rescue golden retrievers myself and they’re the best thing to of happened to my family. We’ve given them another chance to relax and feel loved in their final years.
What’s your dream title ?
Miss Voluptuous International 2021
If you were to win Miss Voluptuous International 2021 what would it mean to you ?
Through my years of pageants I have faced some challenging times and I’ve also not always had the best experience so at times I’ve felt so deflated and I think every pageant girl who puts their all into something and doesn’t come away with anything will understand the feeling of feeling underwhelmed. Wining out in the USA would be the final crown after 4 years of hard work, winning an international title to bring back to the UK.
What’s the best advice you have for fellow pageant queens ?

To do your absolute best, so when you look back you can be round no matter the outcome.
What have you been doing in the run up to your pageant final ?
I’ve only just joined! But I have a lot in store from now till October, I’m taking part in Long dog walks for the RSPCA, photo competitions to show off everyone’s pets, donating to various rescue charity’s not only in my area to support the community but up and down the UK and so much more!
What your favourite ever appearance ?
Me and my mum had an episode on BBC Ones “inside out” where they filmed our yearly run up!
How has the lockdown due to Covid19 affected your pageant journey ?
It had made me think about here I wanted to go next. I have so much love for so many directors and the systems they run are amazing so I made some really hard decisions but it made me think about what I really want out of pageantry and that’s the chance to compete in the USA.
What makes a good pageant role model ?
Someone who is strong minded, someone who is kind to all and someone who is not afraid to speak up for what they believe in!
How do you deal with pageant nerves ?
I turn my nerves into excitement and use that to help me smile on stage!
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions it’s been lovely getting to know more and more about your platform. I wish you all the best at your final in October. Much Love Charlotte, Ms Diamond South Yorkshire 2020.
