Firstly thank you so much for taking the time to answer my questions about your pageant journey for my pageant lockdown blog it’s lovely getting to know fellow pageant queens and more about the systems that they represent.

Can you introduce yourself ?

Hello, my name is Chloé Arsenault, I am 18 years old and the current reigning Miss Teen Galaxy Canada 2020/ 21.

What made you enter pageants?

I decided to enter my very own first pageant by following my mother’s footsteps and I decided by join the Miss North Ontario Regional Canada Pageant in 2018. It was such an honor to be able to represent the same geographic area as my mother did in 1994 this was something really special to me!

What made you decide to compete in the Galaxy System ?

I love our Galaxy Pageantry system it is so amazing. This system encourages all girls and young women to be leaders all around them. Whatever their age or their beliefs they are intelligent, ambitious, personable and love to make a difference in their own community. That is real beauty with a purpose through their volunteerism and their services.

What is the best thing that pageants have taught you?

Pageantry has taught me never to give up. Entering my first pageant made me realize how much responsibility that is needed to be a titleholder. This is when I realized that I would continue to compete until I make my dream a reality of being a titleholder. After each pageant I would reflect on my faults and how I can I improve for my next pageant. Until I became a titleholder with a purpose because each queen requires hard work and dedication.

What is your pageant platform and why?

I love to explain my pageantry platform which is the Trades Sector. It has given me the aspiration and the desire to demonstrate and express that it does not have to be gender related. As I develop a joy for the trades sector, it is heart breaking to see that there has not been much improvement in women in our labor force in nearly 30 years and it is still a male dominating environment. The sensation that a woman still does not belong in the trades is just an outdated stereotype and should not be gender specific. People should be aware that with the increasing age population and retirements the pool of young people entering the workforce of skilled trades will be women and will be an important part of our future. Either I am in a pair of coveralls or a long gown, I can be myself and that does not change me in any way. Because rather it being a hard hat or a crown, we are all queens.

What is your dream title?

My dream title is the International title of Miss Teen Galaxy. For me having the honor of spreading my platform on an international level would be a dream come true. I love that these international queens are hard working women making a difference in the world and I would love the same.

If you were to win Miss Teen Galaxy International what would it mean to you ?

If I were to win, I would have the chance to motivated and empower to do so much good by helping all individuals. No matter what at the end of the day, we are all equal and unique in our ways. The pageant world has given me so many opportunities already to make a difference, but I would give my 100% throughout the reign and continue on this amazing journey.

What is the best advice you have for your fellow pageant queens?

BE YOU. My mother always said be yourself. Only you can determine your future by believing in a positive way. itdoes go a long way.

What have you been doing since you won Miss Teen Galaxy Canada ?

Since I have won my title of Miss Teen Galaxy Canada 2020, I have done numerous fundraisers, been a special guest, attended numerous events to open fairs and board meetings. I work with the Youth or the seniors. I am the teen spokesperson for Cruising for Organ Donors, and I am also the Youth Coordinator for our main community event.

What makes a good pageant role model ?

A good role model is someone that encourages and inspires people to believe in themselves all by hard work, ambition, passion, optimist, and lots of enthusiasm for others.

What is your favorite pageant round ?

My favorite pageant round is Evening Gown Wear. I love being on stage with my amazing gown. I get this overwhelming feeling of happiness, joy, and well-being allat the same time. That makes me feel proud myself that I accomplished something incredible that I love to do.

How do you deal with pageant nerves ?

How I deal with my pageant nerves is not a normal way I actually dance on the spot just to dance it out.
