Why am I interviewing fellow pageant queens during lockdown ?

Yesterday I was asked what’s the inspiration behind my lockdown blog and interviewing fellow beauty queens, so I thought I would write a little blog post about why I’m doing this.

So my blog started as a lockdown project where each week I would post a weekly lockdown blog post about the online campaigns I’ve taken part in and any press I have received for my pageant system Ms Diamond U.K.

I never knew how many online campaigns there were until I put them together on my weekly blog it’s truly incredible how creative pageant girls are, I have taken part in video campaigns, make up campaigns and much more. It’s even given me time to be more creative by starting the blog, writings poem and interviewing fellow pageant queens. I also had an article published this week in Pageant Magazine !

Now not many people know but I used to write for a pageant magazine many moons ago from fitness, dresses, juggling being a mum and a pageant queen to interviewing fellow queens too and I loved getting to know fellow queens and what they were doing with there titles.

So as well as my weekly blog I started writing more about other aspects of pageants, such as how they are empowering, my platform, what each queen can do during lockdown and then I wanted to start interviewing again.

The reason I wanted to do this was a few reasons really.

1) I’m able to get to know fellow pageant girls, I’ve been out of pageants for a while now and there are so many new amazing women and girls competing I wanted to get to know them.

2) I love learning about everyone’s platform as there are some incredibly unique ones.

3) The questions I ask are often asked in the pageant interview so it’s a bit of practice for the pageant queens.

4) I’m learning about all the different systems that are available to compete in.

5) During lockdown I still wanted to give something back to the pageant community and I thought this was the best thing I could do.

So this is the inspiration and reason why I decided to create a lockdown blog and why I interview fellow queens. In the first 2 weeks I interviewed 33 fellow queens from the U.K., Canada and Australia ! I would love too interview 50 over 4 weeks !
