So I decided to do a 10 day fact about my pageant platform, for those that don’t know my platform is cancer awareness and end of life care as unfortunately the two can go hand in hand. Now we often see posts and information about cancer but when was the last time you saw a post about end of life care ? It’s not a topic we often take about but end of life care is not only important to the person it’s happening to but also there family and friends. End of life care doesn’t have to be all sad and tears we have to try and make it positive so it’s about creating special memories with our loved ones, making sure they are not in pain, being in the surroundings they choose if this is possible.
So on Monday I posted my first fact this is the whole post !
So while we’re in lockdown I thought I would do 10 days of facts regarding my platform
Most of you know that my platform is cancer awareness but that also includes end of life care which is a subject I rarely see anyone talking about but it’s incredibly important to make sure that someone is comfortable and can see family and friends and basically allowing the person and there family to make those last few memories together.
This is why I support my local hospices from raising money for them to donating teddies !
So fact one day one ☝️ (these figures are pre pandemic)
✅ In England, some 1,300 people die every day. About 900 of them will have wanted to die at home, but less than half will do so.
Next I had to film myself again which you know I hate ! But it was an amazing cause and for one of my diamond sisters !
Today marks the start of #beeactivebeehealthybehappy week and pleased to be supporting my sister queen Leah in this by doing 5 star jumps a day. If you would like to get involved with her campaign then please video yourself doing any small amount of exercise and tag her 🐝
Bee facts !!
What did you have for breakfast today? Jam on toast? Fresh fruit? Dried fruit in your muesli or some grilled tomatoes with your fry-up? Maybe fruit juice or a coffee? All of this was brought to you by bees. It’s tempting to think bees just provide us with honey – but in fact they’re behind much of the food we eat, including most fruit and vegetables. Bees are crucial to our economy – without them it would cost UK farmers £1.8 billion a year to pollinate our crops. In a world without bees, our food would cost a lot more to produce and our economy would suffer
While I was in exercise mode I also signed up to #30in30 to raise money for my local. Children’s hospital.
I’m taking part in https://facebook.com/events/s/theos-30-in-30-virtual-challen/1430415523806362/?ti=icl Theo’s 30 in 30 to raise vital funds for Sheffield’s Children Hospital 🏥 this is a virtual fitness event that you can do at home !! All they ask is that you raise £30 over the 30 days !! You can do this by setting up a fundraising page and doing exercise on your garden or living room all while supporting the NHS and children battling various illnesses !!
Next I did an online campaign regarding stress awareness month.
April is #StressAwarenessMonth understanding what causes us stress and taking action to manage our stress levels is a key part of looking after our wellbeing.🧠 During the current pandemic stress levels have increased for so many people from the keyworkers working longer hours and risking themselves to help us get our essential items or medical care to parents becoming teachers we are all under stress ! There are lots of tools available to help keep your stress levels down !
Please look after yourself during this current crisis
On Tuesday it was time for another fact !
Day 2 of my platform facts !!
✅ 975 may have needed palliative care to relieve suffering but 469 will not have received it. That means 19 people each hour dying in pain and distress.
This one is quite upsetting, again these figures are pre pandemic !!
Then another online campaign,
World Health Day is a global health awareness day celebrated every year on 7 April. Kind of ironic celebrating in the middle of a global pandemic however raising awareness of this day may influence someone to take more care of their health and also allow others to raise awareness of illnesses unknown or not spoken about by using this day April 7th to promote its also a day to show our gratitude to the nurses, doctors, surgeons and all those who are supporting our health and wellbeing – especially now at this difficult time 💙 THANK YOU! #HealthDay2020

Then I supported another online campaign.
Supporting Alfie Pure Young National King 2020/2021 in his campaign to give thumbs up to all NHS staff 😱who are working incredibly hard for each and everyone one is with pre existing conditions as well as covid 19 outbreak
Another campaign supporting the nhs !!
Supporting Miss Bristol inspiration in her campaign #lovethenhs
We can all do our part by staying home and putting safety first don’t go out unless it’s essential or for exercise but still follow the guild lines regarding social distancing
Show your support by posting a picture with a love heart hand sign !
On Wednesday it was another fact about my platform.
End of life platform 10 days of facts !!
Day 3 fact 3
✅ Estimates suggest that we spend about £55m each day on this failure to give people a good death.
Again these figures out pre pandemic
How the pandemic is effecting people’s end of life is incredibly upsetting for them, there family and friends but in the current climate we have to be safe and stay inside !!
Then another campaign supporting one of my local businesses.
Joining in Miss Manchester International’s campaign to support local businesses #shareandsuppport
What I’m choosing to support The Jam Horse which is local to me in Doncaster. The Jam Horse provides lots of yummy things to eat and drink but also does this by not using single use plastic which is amazing for our environment !!
Home
The next campaign was supporting my diamond sister effy !
Supporting Effy Murphy Miss Diamond Cork as today she was diagnosed with a condition called Hemochromatosis. This is a condition where your blood can build up excess iron and attack the organs in your body. Normally your body is able to absorb just the right about of iron from your food but in the case of Hemochromatosis the body absorbs too much and ends up storing in vital organs such as the heart and liver which can be very dangerous.
Join me in helping miss Diamond cork raise awareness for this condition and to help show her that we are all here for her ❤️
Hemochromatosis

Then on Thursday it was time for another fact !
Day 4 of my platform facts
• 1% of the English population dies each year, only 25% from cancer.
Again this is pre pandemic !!
My platform is cancer awareness and end of life care this fact brings both of them together !
Then I started writing this blog !!
Now it’s time to get the lippy out !!
I am joining in @missbritishbeautycurve2019 @missinternationalcurve19 in wearing pink lipstick for #pinklippydayforsma
The day is to fundraise in memory of Lillie-Mae who lost her fight against Spinal Muscular Atrophy. Funds raised will go towards continuing vital research in this condition and support families with anew diagnosis. #pinklippydayforsma #pinklipstick #vintagepink #msdiamondsouthyorkshire 💞💄
Next it was time to get the bling out !!
Getting involved in little miss teen Great Britain’s campaign !
She wants to see your #favouritepageantitem
Mine has to be earrings the bigger the better !!
What’s yours ???
I then filmed a fact regarding dog racing for my sister queen amber. Ambers platform is to stop dog racing and I’m proud to support her. Here’s my little video fact. She has asked queen to each film a fact so when the whole video is done I’ll post it or the link.
This morning (Friday) I did another platform fact this was the full post.
Platform fact day 5
✅ By creating an opportunity to discuss end of life care wishes with patients, it could save many frustrating conversations later this year as unplanned admissions, falls and infections mount.
Discussing end of life care means that the person isn’t just a number there wishes are taken seriously and tried to be met where possible !
Again this was pre pandemic !
I then got the release date of my Skype interview with Sparkles and Rhinestones and saw another two diamond queens release dates so had to share them.
Looking on my memories on Facebook I saw that four years ago I ran the Sheffield Half marathon by accident ! I ran this to raise money for Hallam FM Cash for Kids it was one of the hardest things I have done but totally worth it to raise money for charity. I ran this when I was a Ms Royal U.K. finalist, I actually won Miss Charity, Best in Interview abs Ms Royal U.K. Miss Role Model which was an amazing achievement.
I also decided to do some extra blog posts, one on why I chose to compete in Ms Diamond then one on how and why I chose my pageant platform.
Today (Friday) I decided to sign up for messyformind more details on the link https://www.birminghammail.co.uk/news/midlands-news/how-take-part-messy4mind-challenge-18062117 I’m going to order my gunge tomorrow and when it arrives it’s time to get messy !!
I have also given my opinion on Pageant Planets post about whether or pageants will roll be relevant after the pandemic has ended. I might look at this topic more in the future but here’s the post and my response.
Another day another platform fact !
Day 6 of my platform facts !
✅ At this moment, about 25% of all hospital beds are occupied by someone who is dying. The National Audit Office estimates that at least 40% of these people have no medical need to be there.
Again this was pre pandemic !
On Sunday I took part in this online campaign which is brilliant all about talking about your relationships with friends and family
Day 8 of my platform facts !
✅ After several years of falling, the death rate is about to increase again as the ‘baby boomers’ reach old age. This is a bad situation, which is going to get worse unless we act now.
Again this is pre pandemic
My Skype interview with sparkles and Rhinestones came out today too !
I took part in the above campaign here’s the full post
Supporting Amber.pageants personal platform which is Leukaemia and trying to get people to sign up on the DKMS website to receive a testing swab to send back to see if they are a matchable donor for anyone suffering with blood cancer (Leaukemia)
She has started her own campaign to raise awareness about the charity and for people between the ages of 17-55 to sign up in the hopes they match someone and can donate their stem cells and save someone’s life 💓
The reason she has chose this as her personal platform is because Shes lost 3 friends to leukaemia all between the ages of 12-13 within a year aswell as many other children around the world that’s suffering. She’d love everyone to join in by taking a picture of them in something red or holding a piece of paper saying the word DKMS on it to spread awareness💓
As cancer awareness is part of my platform I am happy to support her by posting a picture and signing up !!
And I also took part in this online campaign
SEPTO OPTIC DYSPLASIA AWARENESS
Please join in Sophie Marie Browns campaign and wear something blue and hold an Awareness for Septo Optic Dysplasia sign or upload the below info sheet if you cannot hold a sign. She would really like to help people understand what this condition is that her little boy Frankie has as alot of people have never heard of it and just look confused when She tells them the diagnosis .
Share and tag your friends I want to make this condition known so people understand and don’t wonder why Frankie isn’t doing things as fast as other babies. Thank you for your support. 💕 https://www.gosh.nhs.uk/conditions-and-treatments/conditions-we-treat/septo-optic-dysplasia
I honestly have never heard of this before !!
msdiamondsouthyorkshire
Pageant platform facts day 8
✅ We know that where a patient has a plan and knows what is happening, s/he is much more likely to realise the preferred place of death. In most cases (though not all) this is at home, wherever home may be.
Again these were pre pandemic
Today I got an amazing email about writing about all things pageants ! Because of the virus they will just be online as the next issue isn’t out until September but it gives me something to do and hopefully my articles will help pageant girls stay positive throughout the pandemic !
I have also sent in my photo which is part of the Pageant Girl Group ! For there rainbow project more details on the photo !
Supporting my sister queen Georgia in FND Awareness day !
Today is International FND Awareness Day.
FND stands for Functional Neurological Disorder – and it’s when the communications between the brain and the body break down – even though they are both functioning correctly.
Click on the link below to read into a story of a strong lady that suffers with FND below:
‘FND challenges me every day’
This is something I’ve never heard of before which if me is the whole point in pageants bringing awareness to causes that we have never heard of or no little about.
JOIN IN A NEW AWARENESS CAMPAIGN ⚠️
Im joining in with Sera Jessica online campaign to raise awareness on the importance of women attending their smears.
Share a photo of your best scared face and tell us something that scares you that still isn’t as scary as missing a smear test! Add the hashtag #HaveNoFearAttendYourSmear
Nothing is as scary as doing a bungee jump I did last year for charity !
I took part in this really sweet campaign too !
